H2O Guides Japan Powder Camp
Niseko, Japan
January 9 – 17, 2010
Join the H2O Guide Team for the best powder skiing experience in the
world! Located on Japan’s North Island of Hokkaido, Niseko offers a unique
skiing and cultural experience unmatched anywhere on earth.
Northwest to southeast Siberian fronts sweep across the Sea of Japan and
deliver meters of powder to Niseko every winter. In fact, Niseko is the world’s
second snowiest ski resort, boasting an annual average snowfall of 595
inches. Powder is in fact part of the culture in Niseko.
A short flight from Tokyo, Niseko is easy to access but feels a world apart
from any Western ski area. Niseko comprises four interconnected resorts
(Hirafu, Higashiyama, Annupuri and Hanazono) that together form 2000 plus
skiable acres accessed by 38 lifts and gondolas.
Japan’s tree skiing, made famous by ski magazines and movies in recent
years, lives up to the highest of expectations. One pristine powder run
through Niseko’s White Birch trees and you will be hooked for life. With the
largest night skiing arena in the world, Niseko offers a night skiing experience
that years down the road, you still won’t believe you had.
Whether you’re after bustling nightlife or a quite Zen-like experience, Niseko
offers something for everyone. Niseko is home to numerous “onsens”,
natural volcanic hot springs, which provide the most heavenly après ski
setting imaginable. The warmth and friendliness of the local people combined
with a variety of delicious, gourmet cuisine completes the package.
Come experience a world of endless, untouched powder, magical tree skiing
and a culture that revolves around powder, skiing and the mountains.
